| DJ US Cash Grain Review:Corn/Soybean Basis Firm, Wheat Bids Weak
CENTRAL CITY, Neb. (Dow Jones)--Cash corn and soybean basis strengthened Wednesday, as increasing numbers of U.S. farmers began to migrate toward spring fieldwork, thereby limiting country movement. Wheat basis was generally weak. With increasing numbers of growers manning field tractors instead of their grain trucks, domestic and export basis for corn and soybeans averaged about 1-2 cents per bushel higher. "Cash corn is becoming a 'hot item' in some parts of the corn belt right now," said an Iowa grain buyer. "After seeing multiple chances to sell $4 cash corn this winter, many (farmers) are content to wait out the spring planting season before exiting additional old-crop supplies. The prevailing mood seems to be: 'If I'm going to sell the last of my old-crop cheaper, I at least want to know the new-crop is off to a good start'." Wheat basis held a weaker undertone at all levels of the cash market Wednesday, with CIF HRW/SRW values dropping 2 cents throughout the course of the day and interior spring wheat premiums falling by an average of over 2 cents entering the trading session.

Whopping bottle to star in wine auction
A record-setting $11,000 bottle of wine with a special story behind it will make its third appearance at the annual Midland's Hawke's Bay Charity Wine Auction. Marlene Robins received a standing ovation at last year's auction when she paid the hefty sum for the 12-litre bottle of Esk Valley's red wine, The Terraces, 1991 vintage. Hastings couple Murray and Norma McKearney bought the bottle for more than $2000 at the 1993 auction and kept it in a cupboard under their stairs, planning to make it the centrepiece of a party with their friends and Esk Valley winemakers, But the party never happened. Mrs McKearney died in late 2005 at Cranford Hospice - the charity that benefits from the auction. Mr McKearney then gave the bottle for resale at the 2006 auction, as a way of thanking the hospice for the "outstanding" care she had received there.
After Extended Break In Racing Action, Tony Stewart Racing’s Jones ...
I proved to myself that having a bad start doesn't have to make or break you. It's the entire season as a whole that you have to worry about. Ideally, we'd like to win both races for Chevrolet and come away from the weekend ranked first and second in the points. Realistically, we're going after the wins on both days and will worry about the points as the year sorts itself out. It's a long season and this is just the beginning of it. " Winchester Speedway is a very fast, very intimidating race track. Do you remember what went through your mind as you took your first laps at speed around the facility in a sprint car? "I remember asking myself if I could really do this. It was that intimidating. I was running my Dad's car and the place and the speed really made me think.
