| Southern Cross considers bids
SOUTHERN Cross Broadcasting (Australia) Ltd, the radio and television station owner, has addressed speculation of a takeover bid. "As Southern Cross has previously advised the market, the company is continuing to explore a number of opportunities to maximise shareholder value, including mergers, acquisitions and divestments." Elementary school projected bumped back in Red LIon
The bidding process on a new elementary school in the Red Lion Area School District has been delayed from mid-May to early June, pushing the entire project back by months, project manager John Beddia told the school board Thursday. The delay is due to work planned to the adjacent property. The district has a joint agreement with that developer because plans for the new school call for using the adjacent property for access, said board president Chris Seitz. The district cannot receive bids until the adjacent property receives its site approval. With the delay of the bidding process, Seitz said it is "highly unlikely" that the new school will open in September 2009 as planned. The school was originally set to open in September 2008, but had to be pushed back because the acquisition of the property took longer than anticipated.
